Diablo
Key Visual, Video
With the release of their new Dark Red, Diablo sought to introduce a wine that pushed beyond the expected- a bold, complex blend of flavors that invites curiosity and seduces the senses. Far from a traditional red, this wine reveals itself slowly, in layers of rich, dark fruit, spice, and velvety depth. To reflect that character in their advertising, Diablo turned to DAf for a campaign that would go beyond surface-level allure and instead communicate the wine’s layers of seductive notes as well as capture the mystery, allure, and depth of its personality. The key was to feel intimate and sensory, rooted in visual storytelling that reflected the wine’s evolving nature- something viewers could be drawn into. Diablo wanted to communicate not just what the wine is, but what it evokes: a journey into the dark, filled with texture, complexity, and temptation.
In keeping with the brand’s request, we conceived “Infinite Layers, Darkly Delicious”, a phrase highlighting the wine’s blend of delectable flavors and dark intensity. To further this image we created a video of a simple black bottle, immersed in various shades of darkly-colored wax-like substance. It undulates, engulfing the bottle and gradually forming the elegant and tell-tale details of Diablo’s well-known packaging before finally emerging as the fully- formed product. The effect is both seductive and mysterious as Dark Red is displayed in shocking contrast to a red background, an image likewise captured in our key visuals. It calls out to viewers to delve deeper into mystery, to reach out and try the blend.
With Dark Red, complexity becomes an experience. This is not a wine that reveals itself all at once; it is slowly seductive. Our campaign brings that journey to life, inviting viewers to peel back each layer and discover the depth, richness, and unexpected pleasure that lies within. The result is a piece that’s as alluring, bold, and refined as the wine itself- a statement of Diablo’s commitment to creating wines with character, mystery, and undeniable appeal.
