Casillero del Diablo
Video
DAf is no stranger to Devil’s Carnaval. This range of four incredible wines by Casillero del Diablo was created for those who see every day as a chance to celebrate, as we found out firsthand through some of our past projects. When the brand last approached us, we created a video expressing the wines' vivid and seductive qualities by leaning into the range's titular carnaval. We created a lush series of animations prominently featuring brightly-colored masks to both express the range's passionate identity and the celebrations contained within. This time, it was time to give a new face to said celebration. Casillero del Diablo approached DAf with a different idea in mind. They requested a new video with all the color and vibrancy of the first. Instead of bright animation, however, this time the carnaval would come with a live action twist.
For this video, we once again wanted to lean into the concept of "Carnaval" as a celebration, albeit in a more realistic manner. This led to the decision to portray various scenes of celebrations in their various forms; a loud and raucous party complete with a DJ, a bright, afternoon gathering patio, late night wine on a roof top, and friends chatting over drinks.
Using the last campaign as a springboard, our video incorporated the previously-designed masks which then transitioned to a montage of party scenes such as the ones mentioned above. The eye follows the journey of various Devil’s Carnaval wine through various settings and celebrations; each one with a color palette to match the designated wine.
Each clip is fast-paced with color schemes matching the featured wine and vibrant transitions reflecting the scene’s events. This use of vibrant colors and energetic sequences communicates the liveliness of a wine perfect for Gen Z.
Color and Vibrancy shines in both animation and live action.
