Never the Same Story

1000 Stories

1000 Stories pioneered the reintroduction of wine aged in bourbon barrels, but as competition grew, the brand felt its existing narrative no longer conveyed the significance of its name nor the craftsmanship behind its small-batch process. Brand owner Fetzer Vineyards approached DAf to discover a deeper, more meaningful story, one that would restore authenticity, highlight artisanal production, and reinforce the brand’s distinctive position at the intersection of wine and American whiskey culture.

Wine meets whiskey heritage

Never the Same Story

DAf traveled to Mendocino County to film on location, crafting a recognizably American visual language inspired by mid-century literature and the rugged world of bourbon. The tagline “Never the Same Story” captures the evolving nature of the batch technique while celebrating individuality and creative expression.

This approach helped differentiate the brand from conventional wine storytelling by framing each release as a narrative shaped by time, place, and human touch- reinforced by motifs such as the typewriter, symbolizing authorship and originality.

By pairing cinematic imagery with a richly textured narrative, the new brand film and key visual elevate the product from technique to legend. The result is a storytelling platform designed to dazzle audiences while honoring the brand’s pioneering spirit, proving that a truly distinctive product deserves an equally compelling voice to carry it into the future.
